BAFES is governed in accordance with its statutes and Lithuanian law. Strategic and statutory decisions are taken by the competent bodies of the Association. Day-to-day administration and external representation are the responsibility of the head of the Association.
Research activity is project-based. Projects are registered with a defined lead, scope, research questions, source base, research pathway and access designation. Publication is a separate decision made after research and review. Where appropriate, BAFES seeks external methodological or editorial review.
People involved in project approval, review or publication are expected to disclose relevant conflicts of interest. Funding or institutional support does not confer control over research conclusions.
